After a fight he banished Sandruu to another plane, where he was destined to battle with Ravidel, who sought revenge on Kristina for his resurrection. (Magic: Battlemage).
Sarkhan Vol is a planeswalker skilled in draconic shamanism, and uses red, green and black mana (Jund colors). He hails from a plane in which warlords fight for their territories in unending war. On this plane, dragons are long gone, hunted to extinction for glory and sport. Sarkhan was part of an order that worshipped the dragons as gods for they are the ultimate display of power.
During a deep trance, he was visited by an ancient dragon-spirit, and in that moment, his spark ignited. He set out to find a better understanding of the dragon-spirit and discovered that there were other planes than his. He sought a plane that he could look a dragon in the eye, and find a dragon worth serving.
After many years, he found the plane of Jund, a shard of Alara, that was ruled by dragons. It was there that he would attempt to find his new image of perfection, a dragon worthy of his worship. While on his plane, he once met Ajani, who had crossed over from Naya after his brother's death; Sarkhan taught him to unleash the passion and fury of red mana.
Shortly after he meets Rakka Mar; who introduces him to her master, Nicol Bolas. Sarkhan Vol pledges his services to the Dragon.
Later he is given an order from Nicol Bolas to keep watch over the Eye of Ugin on Zendikar. Eventually he gets caught in a battle between Jace Beleren and Chandra Nalaar. The three of them together open the Eye and release the Eldrazi.
Believing he had failed he returns to his master expecting severe punishment for his failure to guard the eye, which he does not receive.

An "unman," or two-dimensional semi-sentient mobile escape gateway created by Ixidor in his own image. After Ixidor's defeat, Sash was one of three remaining unmen left without their creator to control them. He paired up with another unman and the two decided to explore Otaria by themselves. Initially taking on the name "Stick" due to the stretched, overly tall outline he soon developed, he eventually began to call himself "Sash" after he and his companion, Waistcoat, attempted to enter high society disguised heavily in fancy clothing. After numerous misadventures, including spending time as cockroaches in the service of the Cabal Patriarch, Sash and Waistcoat became unofficial guides and sidekicks to Karona. Their magical nature rendered them apparently immune to the hypnotic effect she had on other creatures. While they sympathised with her troubles and sought to make her enemies understand her predicament, they eventually saw the necessity of ending her existence and were able to stab her through the back with Kamahl's sword.
A Devkarin elf of the Golgari Guild on Ravnica. She entered into a plot with the Szadek, the Dimir Guildmaster, to free the Golgari Guild's long-imprisoned Parun (founder), Svogthir, and overthrow the Golgari Guildmasters, the Sisters of Stone Death. She then betrayed Svogthir to become the Golgari Guildmaster herself. Following Szadek's plans, she then declared war on the Boros Guild and led the Golgari against their guildhouse. However, she was later betrayed herself by Szadek and killed. She was succeeded as Guildmaster by her brother, Jared. (Card: Savra, Queen of the Golgari) (Ravnica).

A guardian angel, originally hailing from Serra's plane and lost to Phyrexia during an attack. She's next seen as the guardian angel of the family of Crovax. When Volrath attacked Crovax's home, Crovax summoned her from her sigiled artifact to defeat his minions. He later fell in love with her and freed her from her bind of servitude, but she vanished. After a second attack, Crovax joined the Weatherlight to find her. As the Weatherlight arrived in Rath to rescue its captain, Sisay, they were immediately attacked by Volrath’s own ship, the Predator. Through her link with Crovax, the dark angel Selenia had led the warship to the Weatherlight. As the battle raged Crovax finally glimpsed Selenia, diving in and out of combat. He realised that Selenia now served Volrath. He didn’t know that Selenia, whose very creation equipped her with the empathic link to Crovax, despised Greven and Volrath and would choose to be with Crovax if she could, but she couldn’t question Volrath’s commands. The Predator succeeded in downing the Weatherlight, but the crew survived and repaired the ship. After sneaking into the Stronghold, Gerrard, Mirri and Crovax set out on foot to find Sisay but were attacked by Selenia. Crovax wildly flailed his sword at Selenia, weeping for all he had lost. Sobbing, she defended, deliberately allowing one of Crovax's wild swings to strike home. She exploded in a burst of black-and-white mana that swirled around Crovax and forced its way into his body. Selenia's destiny was then fulfilled, and Crovax's curse was set in motion. (Tempest, Stronghold). During the Invasion block she is brought back by Crovax as the Apocalypse angel. She again was killed by the Weatherlight crew.
In an alternate timeline seen in Planar Chaos, it is Mirri who lands the fatal blow and who receives the curse as a result.

Slobad is the closest thing to living on Mirrodin at this point, so it enters him and restores him to his body. Author of the Chronicles of the Quarum Plains (Card: Quarum Trench Gnomes) Wise up!
Sorin Markov is a vampire and a master of sangromancy, a dark corner of black mana specialization. With this blood magic he can drain the lifeforce of other beings, place curses on enemies, and even possess the minds of others.
With the exception of the elder dragon Nicol Bolas, the vampire Sorin Markov is older than all other planeswalkers, in fact older than all of them combined. His multiple millennia have brought him detachment and easy confidence. Unlike Bolas, Sorin doesn't concern himself with gathering power or control. He is content to follow his whims, even when those whims are cruel or deadly.
Sorin is well traveled and well heeled. Having seen hundreds of planes over thousands of years, he has become a sort of bon vivant, seeking novelty and new diversions. But despite his fundamentally hedonistic nature, Sorin does feel the pull of more lasting concerns, and over his long life this tendency has resulted in an arcane schedule of engagements and forays to far-flung planes. As a result Sorin is a busy man, planeswalking frequently to pursue concerns known only to him. Sorin always seems to have business elsewhere.
One such commitment involves the plane of Zendikar. Long ago Sorin cooperated with two other planeswalkers to complete a ritual that would alter Zendikar forever. The three agreed that if the results of their ritual were ever to be disturbed, all three would return to Zendikar. And although Sorin has held up his end of the agreement, he now finds himself alone on the plane with no sign of his former cohorts. For now he must keep the nature of their work to himself, lest he endanger himself and the plane even more. (Zendikar)
Sorin's homeplane is the plane of Innistrad, which is featured in both the set and block named Innistrad (codenamed Shake). The second set in the Innistrad block, Dark Ascension (codenamed "Rattle") (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/761), will have Sorin return to his homeplane.

A goblin mentioned in a Jamuraan goblin nursery rhyme/war chant. Squee is a common name among goblins of that region. (Card: Relentless Assault).
Goblin cabin boy aboard the Weatherlight. Sneaky and smart (even by more than the standards of a goblin), Squee was loyal to Gerrard, but this loyalty was overshadowed by his much stronger loyalty to the abducted Sisay. Although his main duties are cleaning and cooking, in emergencies he has been called on to take the Weatherlight's aft cannon, with surprising success. On Mercadia, where intelligent goblins pull the strings of politics, Squee was able to use his influence to ensure the safety of the Weatherlight and her crew. In a subsequent battle above the city, Squee's cannon skills are responsible for downing Volrath's ship. During the Phyrexian Invasion, Squee was captured along with Gerrard and killed by Crovax. To everyone's surprise, Squee regenerated; he had apparently gained immortality, or more accurately an unlimited ability to return from death. Crovax believed Yawgmoth granted Squee's immortality, assuming he was being given an unkillable torture victim as a reward, and orders Ertai to take him away while he deals with Gerrard. En route, Ertai wears himself out killing Squee repeatedly and has to recharge himself in a mana generator. A confused and delirious Squee accidentally overloads the machine, destroying Ertai. Squee is later rescued from the Stronghold along with Gerrard. Despite drowning, he survives the sinking of the Weatherlight at the end of the Apocalypse Invasion. (Card: Squee, Goblin Nabob)

A human rogue in the service of Volrath, who keeps his daughter Takara captive on Rath. Before becoming Volrath's minion, Starke was already the pathetic minion who brought Volrath to Rath in the first place. He betrayed Sisay to Volrath as part of a bargain to free his daughter, but Volrath broke the deal. During a battle at Crovax's family home, Starke turned on his master, Maraxus, and allowed Gerrard to win the fight. Starke then finished Maraxus off himself before the warlord could tell Gerrard who he was. As the only available native of Rath (as pointed out by Crovax), he pledged his services to Gerrard as the Weatherlight’s guide to Volrath’s realm, hoping that they could rescue Takara along with Sisay. Once inside the Stronghold, they find Takara in a cell near Sisay's, but she's out of control and blinds Starke in a scuffle before she comes to her senses. The mission complete, they return to the Weatherlight and flee to Mercadia, where the crew are separated upon arrival. Starke and Takara are brought to the Magistrate's tower alone. There, "Takara" reveals who she really is: The shapeshifting Volrath, master of the Mercadians. Volrath calmly slits Starke's throat. (Rath and Storm)

The Parun and Guildmaster of the Dimir. An eldritch vampire and master spy, who some say predated even the guilds themselves. He rules House Dimir from the shadows, waiting with immortal patience for an opportunity to grasp ultimate power.
The role of the House Dimir in the Guildpact is to test its strength through constant opposition. When Agrus Kos arrested Szadek during his attack on the Selesnya Guild, Szadek was rendered unable to fulfil his duties and the Guildpact was broken as a result. Szadek then worked together with Augustin IV to destroy the Guildpact, a goal both of them desired. (Ravnica)
While imprisoned, Augustin had Szadek executed, but retained his services as a ghost, and sent him to destroy the Angels of the Boros Legion. In the book of Dissension Szadek proves to have been successful, and the return of Sunhome (now a wreck containing hundreds of dead angels) to Ravnica allows Szadek to return as well. Once Agrus breaks his bond to Augustin Szadek attacks and kills the Grand Arbiter. Following these events, Szadek becomes permanently based in the Ghost Quarter to build up his power base, and Agrus is sent by the Boros to police him. (Card: Szadek, Lord of Secrets)
